INSTRUCTOR: JP Harris is an American country singer, songwriter, guitarist, and clawhammer banjoist based in Nashville, Tennessee. He has performed at the Newport Folk Festival in 2016, 2017 and 2021.
Subject: Students will learn the “Nashville Number System” a method commonly used in studios, writing sessions, and live performances, that allows anyone with a basic understanding of the musical scale may to learn the chord progressions of any given song, and easily transpose them into any key. JP goes through the basic premise of the system and gives a live demonstration with his band..
Age/Skill-Level Recommendation: Intended for intermediate to advanced level students, ages 14 and up. A basic understanding of music theory is required.
