Newport Jazz Presents: Jam Sessions at the Blue Room
A space for all musicians to come together and perform in an inclusive, multigenerational setting.
WHEN: Every second and fourth Wednesday of the month, starting October 25th. 9pm – 12am
WHERE: The Blue Room in Cranston, RI 2197 Broad St. 02905
The jam sessions will feature a house band and curated jazz repertoire. Each session will be themed to focus on the music and legacy of a jazz artist; musicians are encouraged to play a tune written by that artist. A different jazz artist will be announced a week ahead of time to give musicians time to learn and explore that artist’s music. We invite musicians of all levels and ages to join each session. Non-performing patrons are also invited to attend and watch each session.
Backline is provided by the club, along with drums and piano, all other musicians are expected to bring their instruments.
Parking is available at the venue.
