Introducing students to the history and traditions of Jazz music

The Newport Jazz Assembly Band visits schools throughout New England to introduce students to the history and traditions of Jazz music and culture through performance and discussion. The band has performed for over 35,000 students.

The program is free for all public schools. Thank you to the Joyce and George Wein Foundation and Robert Smith for helping us bring jazz to the next generation.
