Foundation Coordinator – Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Development and Programs, the Foundation Coordinator will play a vital role in helping NFF achieve its mission to create moments of hope through the power of music and community. The Foundation Coordinator will primarily assist in Newport Festivals Foundation’s fundraising efforts and music education initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual interested in entering the nonprofit, fundraising, or music education sectors.
This is a year-round, part-time position with the opportunity to grow into a full-time role.
Responsibilities of the Foundation Coordinator will include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in the management of the Newport Folk & Jazz Membership programs. Assist in the on-site membership sign-up process, ticket presale, and execution of benefits.
- Assist in the cultivation and stewardship of donors. Enhance the Foundation’s ability to serve donors and maintain accurate data.
- Assist in the execution of events, including the annual summer gala and off-season member meetings.
- Weekly reporting of donations received through NFF’s CRM system, NEON
- Provide administrative support for the Foundation’s music education programs, including but not limited to the Free Music Lessons program, Music Lab registration, Jazz Summer Camp, etc.
- Assist in the strengthening of relationships with RI-based musicians, teachers, and key influential leaders to drive community capital efforts.
Requirements
- Must live in or be willing to move to Rhode Island (Aquidneck Island preferred)
- Must have a car and license
- Must be willing to come into the office 2 to 3 days per week
- Must be available during the Festival weekends (July 25-27 and Aug 1-3)
Skills and Characteristics
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Passion for performing arts and music education
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to prioritize multiple tasks
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Highly motivated and self-directed; capable of seeing projects through from beginning to end
- Excellent computer skills, particularly with Google Suite
Work Experience
This is an entry-level position. As such, no prior work experience is required.
Compensation
This is a year-round, part-time position. 10-20 hours per week. $25 per hour.
